Collectively we have over forty years’ experience within the professional dance, theatre and teaching industry.
We aim to nurture, stimulate and build self-esteem within the Academy, enabling each individual dancer to fully aspire to their potential.
Our vision is to provide a quality dance school within the community, balancing both technique and performance skills in a creative and happy environment. We look forward to showcasing our students progress periodically throughout the year.
We have Disclosure Scotland—PVG scheme check, full public liability insurance and are First Aid Certificated.
Having started dancing at a very young age, Jill gained a Scholarship to Scottish Ballet in Glasgow. She furthered her vocational training at the renowned full time professional Performing Arts School Bush Davies in West Sussex.
Her professional career has taken Jill all over the world and spans two decades. Her roles have included professional dancing, acting, singing, choreographing, producing, directing and teaching.
For the past ten years Jill has been living and teaching In Larvik, Norway. Her responsibilities included teaching at the vocational Thor Heyerdahl Music, Dance & Drama College, Studionille dancing school and at the children’s theatre group Theatre Munken.
Having danced from a young age Heather’s passion for Dance has developed into a successful teaching career. Certified by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in Tap and Modern Theatre, her dedication, commitment to her students and attention to detail has resulted in a 100% examination pass rate.
Heather currently teaches children of all ages and has been instrumental in helping senior students further their dance training at vocational schools throughout the UK. Her previous roles have included Course Leader/ Mentor for the HND Degree Students at Ballet West Professional Dance School based in Taynuilt, Argyll.
Choreography is also one of Heather’s strengths, with involvement in local amateur dramatic groups, schools and charity fundraisers.
The foundation of all dance. Emphasis is placed on developing flexibility and strengthening the legs, feet and body core. We follow the Royal Academy of Dancing syllabi (RAD), a British association recognised in over seventy countries worldwide.
A rhythmic dance style which originated in America. It is often seen on the stages of musical productions and is known for its theatrical qualities. We follow the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing syllabi (ISTD), a British association recognised worldwide.
A form of dance characterised by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion helping to improve musicality and rhythmic response. There are many styles from classical to more contemporary American styles. We follow the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing syllabi (ISTD), a British association recognised worldwide.
Our students will be taught various iconic dance styles and repertoires, ranging from the renowned Bob Fosse style to 1950’s Jukebox. To execute these diverse styles a combination of strength training and stretching is essential.
Improvisation and creative dance will also be a feature, developing self-confidence, communication skills, stimulating the imagination and unravelling artistry. Our dancers will broaden their theatrical stage craft skills, keeping up with trends of London and the West End.
